This policy covers gooribi.com โ€” the site you are reading. It explains what we collect here, why, and what you can ask us to do about it.

It does not cover the checkout and account platform we hand you over to when you buy a product. That platform is operated by our technology provider, GoDaddy, who act as a separate data controller under their own Product Privacy Policy. Once you are on their checkout, their policy applies to what happens there.

Who we are

GoOribi Inc. We provide domains, hosting, email, SSL certificates, security and marketing products, and we design and build custom websites.

For any privacy question, or to exercise any right described below, email info@gooribi.com or call the number in the footer of this site.

What we collect on this site

When you contact us

Our quote and contact forms ask for your name and email address, and optionally your phone number, company name, the service you are interested in, a budget range, and whatever you write in the message box. You choose what to put in these fields, and only the name and email are required.

We use this to reply to you and to keep track of the enquiry. We do not add you to a marketing list because you contacted us, and we do not sell or rent enquiry data to anyone.

How you found us

If you arrive through an advert or a campaign link, the tracking parameters in that link (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_term, utm_content, gclid, fbclid) are recorded with your enquiry, along with the page you were on when you submitted it. This tells us which campaigns actually produce work, so we can stop paying for the ones that do not.

Spam prevention

To stop automated submissions we record how long the form took to fill in, and a salted one-way hash of your IP address. We deliberately do not store the raw IP address โ€” the hash lets us recognise repeat abuse from the same source without us holding an address that identifies you.

Server logs

Our hosting provider keeps standard web server logs (IP address, timestamp, page requested, browser type) for security and troubleshooting. These are managed by the host under their own retention schedule.

Cookies

This site sets a session cookie, which keeps you connected to the right form data as you move between pages, and a security token cookie, which prevents other websites from submitting our forms on your behalf. Both are strictly necessary for the site to work and neither tracks you across other websites.

If you install this site as an app on your phone, it stores pages on your device so it keeps working offline. That data stays on your device and is never sent to us.

We will update this section before adding any analytics or advertising cookies, and will ask for your consent first where the law requires it.

When you buy something

We do not take payments on this site and we never see your card details. When you add a product to your basket, you are handed over to our payment and account platform, operated by GoDaddy on secureserver.net, where your billing details and payment are handled entirely by them.

So that we can support you, we can see which products are on your account. We cannot see your card number, and we cannot see your password.

California residents can use the Do not sell my personal information link, which is also in our footer on every page.

Who we share it with

We share personal data only with parties who need it to deliver what you asked for:

  • GoDaddy โ€” our technology provider, for orders, accounts and billing.
  • Our hosting provider โ€” who runs the servers this site and our records sit on.
  • Our email provider โ€” so that enquiry notifications reach us.
  • Professional advisers or authorities โ€” only where we are legally required to.

We do not sell personal data. We do not share your enquiry with other agencies or lead brokers.

How long we keep it

Enquiries are kept for two years from your last contact with us, then deleted automatically. Two years is roughly how long it takes for someone who asked about a website to come back and actually commission one; keeping enquiries indefinitely would be holding data for no reason.

If you become a customer, we keep records for as long as we provide the service, plus the period our accountants and tax law require.

You can ask us to delete your data sooner. See below.

Your rights

Whatever your location, we will honour a request to:

  • See what we hold about you.
  • Correct anything that is wrong.
  • Delete it, where we are not required to keep it for tax or legal reasons.
  • Get a copy in a portable format.
  • Object to a particular use, or withdraw consent you previously gave.

Email info@gooribi.com and we will respond within 30 days. We will not charge you, and we will not make you explain why.

Requests about your product account โ€” invoices, domains, hosting โ€” need to go to GoDaddy, because they hold that data. Ask us and we will point you to the right place.

Security

This site is served over HTTPS. Administrator accounts require two-factor authentication. Passwords are stored using one-way hashing, so nobody at GoOribi can read yours. Enquiry data is accessible only to staff who need it to reply to you, and every change is logged.

No system is perfectly secure. If we ever discover a breach affecting your personal data, we will tell you and the relevant regulator promptly rather than quietly.

Children

This site is intended for businesses and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we use personal data, we will update this page and change the date at the top. For anything significant we will say so plainly rather than relying on you to re-read the page.
